Meet Kristin Miller a patient of ours who has loved running since elementary school, she just completed The Kessel Run 50 in Fruita with an Injury and we asked her a few questions to learn more about her.

What race did you just compete in?

  • The Kessel Run 50 miler by Mad Moose in Fruita Colorado

What is a non-negotionable when it comes to your training?

  • Getting in long runs in the mountains.

What is something you absolutely cannot live without while recovering from a long run?

  • Chocolate Milk!

How did you initially get into running?

  • I have loved running since elementary school so I guess I would say 50 yard dashes and the Goleen Sneaker Award Program haha

What do you listen to while you run?

  • I don't actually ever listen to music while running so I guess just my own swirling thoughts.

How long have you been seeing Tyler and Julian? How does chiropractic care help with training and recovery?

  • I've been coming to Tyler since 2013 and Julian since you got the shockwave machine in 2022. I don't think I would've gotten through half of my training or finished half of my competitive races without the help of Tyler and Julian. They are essential to my injury prevention, management, and healing. Tyler is the most skilled physician I have ever seen and his knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of an athlete are priceless. He knows the most recent research to help guide my strengthening and injury prevention. His treatment of my injuries is thorough and highly effective. Dry needling, Graston, injections when needed, and his adjustments have me feeling better within days. The addition of shockwave treatment has been priceless. I feel it is a miracle treatment that can help almost anything I am dealing with. I can't say enough good things about these Doctors and the work they do. I'd be a wreck without them!

Tell me about your injury and how it affected your race?

  • I seem to deal with injuries quite often especially as my training mileage increases in the mountains. This time I was dealing with bursitis again as well as some compromised areas in my soleus and achilles attachment. At the last minute just days before the race Tyler knew we could steroid inject the bursa and was able to scan the Achilles and knew I didn't need to worry about that rupturing while I raced. After the injection the pain was minimized and I was able to run my race without it impacting my performance much at all!

Wow! Thank you so much Kristin for taking us along your incredible journey. We are so proud of you, from all of us here at Physical Dimensions.
